GM vegetables to hit market in two years , says IARI.

 

Farmers can grow pest-resistant , high yielding transgenic varieties of bringal, cabbage and tomato in about two years, said Dr P.Anand Kumar of IARI recently before a conference of the AP Academy of Science. IARI is also developing pest resistant varieties of chick pea, mustard, basumati and wheat using biotechnology.
