Indian
Drug Companies with New Strategies
under
the New Regime.
| Thanks to the onset of
the New IPR Regime, Indian drug companies are adopting new strategies.
Novartis and Novo Nordisk have announced agreement with Dr Reddy’s Laboratories
(DRL) on commercialization on NN622 (DRF-2725), a compound currently in
development for type-2 diabetes. Similar arrangements are being reported
elsewhere also ( Cf. Business Today July 6, 2001, pp 37 ) dealing with
Ranbaxy, Torrent, Zydus Cadilla, Wockhart and Sun Pharma. Truly a "Faustian
Alternative" for them, they must succeed for India’s sake.
