| While on her visit to
India, Ms Christina B.Rocca repeatedly emphasized the need for " an effective
system to protect intellectual property rights " and has urged India to
adopt and enforce patent laws that meet all WTO standards on TRIPS, adding
that " better IPR protection will support Indian search for investment,
both domestic and foreign, in all cutting-edge knowledge-based sectors".
