Agrani Satellite Launch delayed.
| Thanks to the new policy
of the government in opening up the satellite sector to private sector
(with even FDI participation), the first such effort launched by Agrani
Satellite Services is yet to take off. The project is awaiting financial
closure AS WELL AS US PRESIDENTIAL WAVER ON IMPORT OF SATELLITE COMPONENTS.
It is strange that an item requiring special US clearance is treated by
Indian government just as one civilian sector!
