ICAR Efforts to meet New Demands
on Agriculture from Processing Industry


Central Potato Research Institute under ICAR has developed two high dry-matter potato varieties – Kufri Chipsona 1 and 2 – most suitable for potato chips. These varieties produce material with high dry matter, low sugar content and low processing losses. The chips manufacturers are already showing great interest. One hopes that these new varieties would be appropriately IPR protected and released to farmers under acceptable terms.
