DGCSIR on Global IPR Panel.
 
 
Dr R.A.Mashelkar FRS, DGCSIR, has been nominated as a member of the International Commission on Intellectual Property Rights set up by the United Kingdom. Other members are the Chairman Prof John Barton ( Stanford University) , Mr Daniel Alexander ( IPR Barrister,UK), Prof Carlos Corea (Buenos Aires) , Dr Gill Samuels (Pfizer,UK) and Dr Sandy Thomas ( Nullfield Council for Bioetics).The Commission will consider the views of NGOs and experts as to how national IPR laws be best designed to benefit developing countries within the TRIPS. The Commission will submit its report in December 2001 to the UK Secretary of State for International Development.It is hoped that our experts and concerned public men will take time and place their views before the Commission as part of the national efforts to mitigate the less-than-friendly implications of the New Indian IPR Regime.
