BHEL files 16 Patents.

The corporate R&D of BHEL has filed a record 16 patents during 2000-20001 in its differing areas of research,namely, transportation,power transmission and distribution and materials science.The one on the microcontroller-based governor(MCBG) for use in diesel locomotives is expected to save Rs 60 crores in fuel saving if all the 3200 mechanical/hydraulic governors are replaced by the Indian Railways - a very significant achievement indeed. |
