| Scientists of IARI have
identified Jaldi Dhan 8 - an early maturing, high yielding variety
developed for the draught prone Kalahandi- Bolangir- Koraput belt of Orissa.These
varieties are very early maturing ( 60-80 days) , high moisture and disease
tolerant and have been demonstrated to give yields upto 3.5 tons of grain
per hectre even in the Kalahandi region.
